BRIMIR

Brimir is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy created in August 2020 in Akranes Iceland under the name BJJ Akranes by Valentin Fels Camilleri.

In September 2021, the academy becomes Brimir.

In Norse mythology, 

Brimir is another name for the giant Ymir, the ancestor of all Jötnar (Giants),

It also represents a hall for the souls of the virtuous following the end time conflict of Ragnarök.

Moreover, “Brim” translates as “surf”, meaning “the mass or line of foam formed by waves breaking on a seashore or reef”, fitting quite well with Akranes, being a historical fishing town.
